into men who would best be described as consistently horrible.
you have a tape that’s playing in your head. You need to decide to stop playing the tape.
want to be sexy and comfortable and I want men to want to unwrap me like I’m a Christmas gift, but I also want to be left alone and take a nap
At this point in the monologue, I had the sudden realization that the completely illogical circular argument I was building was not unlike what men must tell themselves as they plan to murder their wives.
Annotations is a series of excepts from the books I am reading this year. When I finish each book I go through the lines I have marked and share them with you.
I was hesitant on reading You Deserve a Drink. I don’t know why. I love Mamrie Hart’s YouTube videos and I’m a big fan of the Holy Trinity but for some reason I didn’t run out and pre-order this book. And by run out I mean go to Amazon.ca and give them my credit card info and impatiently wait for Canada Post to drop the book at my office months later. Nor did I go out and buy it once it hit the shelf or for a month after.
I’m going to say the reason for this is I ended 2014 and started 2015 (the first 4 months) reading memoirs by strong females and I needed a break from feeling inspired and defeated. Continue Reading
I finished off my bottle of face cleanser and toner and took this as a chance to try something new. I also took this as a chance to write a review about what I had finished using.
For the last few months I have been trying the Biore Charcoal line. It isn’t bad, but I’m not a fan of how my face reacted to it. It didn’t react in a bad way, but my pores seemed more clogged than when I was using Yes To… before. I could see my pores and couldn’t find a way to unclog them. I didn’t break out much, almost not at all, but I could still see stuff in my pores. Continue Reading
Last night I finished Insurgent, the second book in the Divergent series. I have seen the movies for both of these books before borrowing my roommate’s copies to read. It’s interesting how different the ending of the movie was from the book. I think that they made a good choice in changing it for the film, it was better for the screen.
So! I went on GoodReads to update my 2015 book challenge and noticed this section of suggestions based on my “bookshelves”. Now, I have a bookshelf called “Gave Up”, where I save the books I never finish reading after removing them from the “Currently Reading” section shelf. It holds one book; Catch 22. And may soon hold Fall of the Governor Part 2, which I haven’t read in a really long time and once left in my car for a week because I didn’t care enough to go get it and I just started reading another book until I needed to use my car, but haven’t actually committed to giving up on it yet. Although I watched all the episodes over a few days, I didn’t really like The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. I didn’t find the jokes funny. I didn’t find the story interesting. I didn’t find the characters compelling and I didn’t care in general.
Tuesday was St Patrick’s Day… well duh… and I spent it not doing the Irish things of my heritage. I went to work. And then I went home. After work I hung out with the roommate. She made guacamole (!!) and we just had some drinks while watching Leap Year. Have a look at the review I wrote about Leap Year when it originally came out. Continue Reading
